Change is hard and messy – no question about that.
No matter how ready and prepared we feel for the upcoming change, there is really no way to avoid the havoc it will inevitably bring.
Not to mention the kind of change that appears to come from nowhere.
That can and usually does create devastation in our lives.
But why is it that way?
Is there anything that can be done to make change easier on us?
Why is change hard and messy?
And how do we go about doing that?

Your Point Of View On Life
“Change your thoughts and you change your world.”— Norman Vincent Peale
How we deal with change – the planned type and the unexpected type – really comes down to how we view life in general.
Most of us live our lives as bodies. Everything we do is to protect it because we equate life with the body.
We believe that once the body is gone – life ends.
Once we think we have achieved some sort of comfort level when it comes to protecting the body, we move on to running away from pain and running towards pleasures.
Both goals are totally body-focused and as such any hint of change will threaten them.
For as long as our only goal in life is to protect the body, avoid pain and chase pleasure, change will always seem scary and threatening.
We will perceive change as a threat to our own existence, which by our current limited perception means the well-being of the body.

Why Is Change Important?
“The greatest discovery of all time is that a person can change his future by merely changing his attitude” –Oprah Winfrey
Change is messy, mysterious, and challenging.
For the most part, change does not feel like progress from our limited point of view.
It is however necessary to bring ourselves and the world into higher consciousness.
To walk the bridge from the old to the new version of us is challenging.
In order to be able to do it we must first develop certain spiritual attributes:
Faith, courage, compassion, integrity, honesty, wisdom, kindness, and trust.
We will be able to develop those spiritual attributes by broadening our perspective of life beyond just the body.
We will have to gain the understanding that life is so much more than what is translated by our bodily senses.
Change is important because every time it happens it gives us a brand new opportunity to develop a fresh and broader perspective of life and ourselves.

Why Is Change So Hard?
“Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself.” – Leo Tolstoy
Change is hard because we are creatures of habit.
We are afraid of the unknown that’s why change terrifies us even though it might be really good for us.
Even though we might end up loving the change, we are still terrified of it.
Consciously we know that change is inevitable, but we still try to attempt the impossible and prevent change from happening.
Change is so hard for us because we do not trust life.
We think that we have worked hard for what we think we have achieved and if we do not protect that, the future will be worst instead of better.
Change is hard because we live life from a very limited perspective, from the perspective of our bodies, and of course as far as the body goes, any type of change appears very threatening to its very existence of it.

Change Is Part Of Life
“Since we cannot change reality, let us change the eyes which see reality.” –Nikos Kazantzakis
Change is part of life for as long as we think the changeable is life.
Life is changeless and everlasting. We do not understand the meaning of that as of yet because everything that we perceive and believe is life and the world is changeable.
For as long as we portray life in that way, yes, change will always be a part of life.
But there is a way to find the truth about life and the fact that it’s changeless and everlasting.
But this requires a total change of mind about the world and ourselves.
But once we are able to see the truth, change will disappear because reality is changeless and change does not have a place in it.
Once we are ready and willing to allow the correction of our minds, we will know that change is not part of life.
But until then, change is part of life.
We should be glad about that because every change that appears is an opportunity to bring us closer to being ready to have our minds corrected and finally see the truth.

Why Is Change Good?
Sooner or later we will all reach the same destination, a place where we know the truth about ourselves and the world.
Until that happens, we need to accept the apparent change and it will serve us well to believe that change is good.
Change is always good because it serves as a course correction.
We are all on our journey home but often we get wrapped up in unimportant things and our arrival time gets delayed.
Change allows us to pause, reevaluate and make the necessary correction.
Otherwise, we become stagnant and bored.
We stop questioning and exploring. We get stuck in the rat race.
Change, especially the unexpected type allows us to open our minds enough to see a different perspective of life and the world.
Change is always good because it is happening.
Everything that is happening to us is good because it is designed to help us change our minds and see the truth.

How To Deal With Change?
The best way to deal with change is to develop an attitude that everything that happens to us is in our best interest.
I know, this does not always appear to be so.
But in order to believe that we need to adopt a broader definition of our best interest.
Most people define our best interest as what the body likes and enjoyed.
If that were the case, the change would never be good and our main purpose in life would be to eliminate change.
Fortunately, that is not the case.
We are so much more than just the body, so let’s just for a second ignore the selfish and short-sited interests of the body.
What if the goal was to go back home, go back where we came from, and truly below.
A place where only pure love exists. A place that does not know pain and sorrow. A place that is not a physical place at all but rather a state of mind.
Assuming that we can for a second imagine this being true, we can clearly see how to change that rattles our current perspective of the world, a change that forces us to question and look for more, is really really good for us.
And as such the only way to deal with change is to appreciate it and be very excited to see how it accelerates us on our journey back home.

How To Accept Change?
The only way to accept change is to change our minds about it.
When we manage to see change as an opportunity to help us along the journey, there will be no question about accepting it.
Instead, we will welcome the apparent change with excitement and the understanding that help has come to help us go home.
To accept change is to believe that everything that appears to be happening to us is in our best interest, but not necessarily for the best interest of our bodies, as we are so much more than just our bodies.
Ask yourself, how differently your life would be if you truly believed that every single thing that appears to be happening to you is for a greater purpose and that nothing can truly hurt you, ever.
The body can get hurt, but we are not the body, we are so much more.
But until we are ready to accept this, change will appear to be bad and scary.

How To Change Yourself?
The only way to change yourself is to change your mind about yourself.
For as long as we believe that we are this temporary body in this temporary world, what’s who we will be.
When we are ready to realize the truth about what we really are, that’s when the change will happen.
Just try to imagine how different life would be if we didn’t think that we had to protect it.
We think we are bodies and that life can only be expressed through the body.
When the body ceases to exist, life ceases to exist as well.
When you really think about it, this does not make much sense, but in our current perception, that’s how we see it.
Therefore, everything that we do we do it to protect the body.
How different our experience of life would be if we were able to change our perception and believe that we are more than just the body.
How different would everything be if we stopped worrying about protecting and preserving the body?
The kind of freedom we would be able to feel?
But to be able to do that, we need to be willing to change our mind about what and who we are.
How To Change Your Life?
The only way to change your life is to change your mind about it.
Change can only happen from within.
The life that we perceive living is just an outer manifestation of what is happening in our minds; a projection and nothing else
One cannot change a projection, the only change possible needs to happen at the source.
So if you want to change your life, first you need to change your mind about it.
How do we do that?
Well, this will not happen overnight.
It will require steady focus and determination.
It will require a willingness to become open-minded and allow the change to occur.
It will require faith and trust.
if we want to see lasting change in our lives, we must change on the inside first.
