light, heaven, inner world, when I close my eyes

We all do it; we close our eyes many times throughout the day but do we ever wonder:

What really happens when I close my eyes?

Is there more to it than just some random shapes and colors that appear in front of my eyes?

What Happens When I Close My Eyes?

“The eyes of fear want you to put bigger locks on your doors, buy guns, close yourself off. The eyes of love instead see all of us as one.” – Bill Hicks

I close my eyes and a brand new world emerges.

Our eyes do not see, they only interpret.

The mind makes a decision about what it wants to see and it sends its messengers into the world to collect a confirmation of what it already decided.

Our eyes, the little messengers of our minds, bring back images that confirm what our minds already decided.

What our eyes see is just a preference that our mind has.

Can we rely on such a faulty system to convey the true reality back to us?

Right now, at the level of our consciousness, we trust that what we see is the absolute truth.

We do not doubt it nor question its validity.

But this system is very faulty and not objective at all.

Close Your Physical Eyes To Activate Your Mind Eyes.

“Let your mind start a journey through a strange new world. Leave all thoughts of the world you knew before. Let your soul take you where you long to be. Close your eyes, let your spirit start to soar, and you’ll live as you’ve never lived before.”— Erich Fromm

True reality is not physical.

It is only our faithful servants, our bodily senses, that make it so.

They carve shapes and objects out of the whole and make them and us appear as individuals and separate.

This appears to be very fearful at first but it is not.

Think of something that you love.

Your senses have converted it into a physical form but that is not their source.

The source or essence exists in a non-physical form.

It is our senses that transformed it into something that you can see, hear and touch.

But that is just your perception of their true essence.

Is this not a comforting thought that what you love will exist forever and only your limited perception of it will disappear at some point?

So, what happens when I close my eyes?

I am teaching my body to ignore the perception of the object of my love and get in touch with its true essence.

When I close my eyes, I am teaching myself who I really am.

Not a temporary body that is born and lives painful life, gets old, and dies but the true, pure essence that is absolute everlasting love.

Everything that we see is our interpretation of reality, not the reality itself.

This concept is not something that you can logically experience, you need to be willing and allow yourself to be guided to this revelation.

close your eyes, new world

Conceptually I like to imagine that everything at its source is light.

My eyes have divided that light into billion individual pieces and have wrapped them into a physical form, sort of a costume.

That concept allows my limited brain to grasp some sort of understanding.

Again, is this not a comforting thought?

So, what are you waiting for?

A brand new world awaits your discovery and all you have to do is to close your eyes a while and allow it to show itself to you.

The usual rules of mediation apply here.

You have to be willing to close your eyes and ignore your body and the outside world for a while.

You have to drop all concepts of yourself, the world, and any expectations of what you will experience for a bit.

But don’t worry, you can pick them back up after you open your eyes.

You have to believe and trust that you will be led there.

So, should I live my life with my eyes closed all the time?

“You can see more clearly with closed eyes.” – Josef Albers

No, furthest from it.

Once you learn how to see the real world, you will change your mind about the world you see and its function.

Once that happens, what your eyes see will change as well.

In some instances, your eyes will literally see the light in every object and item that they look at.

Our little messengers will bring different messages from the world once your mind is changed.

A beautiful world awaits your discovery when you close your eyes, but also your physical world will change accordingly once you discover your inner world.

As your mind realizes that pain, suffering, and death are not real and that we only see them because we believe in them, our eyes will no longer see them.

A word of caution: don’t try to make logical sense of it, it’s impossible.

If you want to experience that beautiful world without suffering, you need to go through the process of changing your mind about the world.

You need to systematically start closing your eyes and disassociating from your body and the world for a period of time in order to convince your mind of the existence of the true reality, not the one our senses have convinced us of.

Our analytical mind is very eager to jump in and take over trying to figure out how that could possibly work.

Don’t let it.

We don’t know exactly how we see the world that we see there is no need for us to know how the new world will emerge.

All you need to do is to be willing and allow it to happen.

“The soul, fortunately, has an interpreter – often an unconscious but still a faithful interpreter – in the eye.” – Charlotte Bronte

How much time and effort will this take?

Look around.

What do you see?

Do you mainly see beautiful things? Pleasant people? Friendly world?

If that’s the case, you are closer than you think.

Your perception of the real world is already very close to the true perception, or the reality.

If this is not the case, and you mainly see bad things, danger everywhere, and cruel people, well your journey will be a little bit longer.

In the end, we are where we are and it really doesn’t matter where we are.

The only thing that matter is our willingness and the journey back to our true selves.

A journey back home, where we came from, and where we are all headed regardless of whether we realize it or not.

If we are willing and we will do the work required to change our minds, that is great, but the only thing that we are saving is time.

In the end, we are all going where we belong.

By closing our eyes and allowing our perceptions to change by changing our minds, we are assisting everyone else that is not yet ready for this realization.

This is how the world will change.

Not by drastic action but by sitting quietly, closing our eyes, and allowing ourselves to remember who we really are.

By allowing ourselves to rediscover where we come from and where we are going.

By our trust and willingness to be shown once again the real world.

By temporally forgetting the world of illusions and dreaming and embracing the truth.

By realizing that I truly see when I close my eyes.
