Living from your heart.
This seems to be a very popular saying these days.
But what does that mean?
And how exactly do you do that?

Living From Your Heart
“Your visions will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.”―
Living from your heart takes courage, strength, and commitment.
It involves making a conscious effort to keep your heart at the center of your life, rather than letting external influences dictate your choices.
Living from your heart means staying true to yourself, no matter the cost.
It involves listening to your inner guidance and following its directions, even if it means going against the grain.
Living from your heart means being honest and authentic in all your interactions, even when it’s hard.
It means letting go of the need to please others and instead, doing what you feel is right.
Living from your heart involves being mindful of your thoughts, feelings, and actions.
It means taking responsibility for your own happiness, rather than relying on others to make you feel fulfilled.
It means recognizing the triggers that cause negative emotions and working to reduce their power over you.
Furthermore, it involves being kind to yourself and understanding that difficult emotions are just that, emotions. They are temporary and they don’t have to define your life.

Chances are that, even if you make the conscious effort of trying to listen to your heart, all you will hear is your crazy mind.
So, how do we actually do that?
Well, just like anything else, you will have to practice to learn to listen to your heart.
Again, the instructions are very simple:
- Sit in a quiet place
- Close your eyes
- Slow your breathing (inhale for 4 seconds and exhale for 4 seconds)
- And mentally focus on your heart
This will take a while but eventually, you will start feeling your heart.
At first, I was able to feel my heartbeat and then slowly I started feeling the emotions that my heart was generating.
They will not always be pleasant emotions as we have stored a lot of unprocessed emotions in our bodies and once given a chance they do come up.
You will have to learn not to resist those unpleasant emotions that start coming up when you open yourself enough.
But slowly, if given a chance and practiced with consistency, your heart and brain will harmonize and that is when you will see an amazing change take place.

But why do that in the first place?

Well, it all depends on where you are in life.
For me, life became very uncomfortable.
I stopped seeing value in the life that I was living.
The one question that was constantly haunting me was “what is this for?” “why do anything?” etc.
As painful as this stage was, I knew that this was a new beginning and this meant that I’m ready for a new perception of life, a new meaning.
I realized that I have outgrown my current life and was ready for something bigger.
It took a long time but once I started practicing harmonizing my brain with my heart I was able to grasp the meaning of living from your heart.
Our mind is amazing, it can produce great things and it is programmed to find solutions.
Unfortunately, the mind has very limited perception.
It can only work with what it thinks it knows, which in a grand scheme of things, is not much.
Our heart, on the other hand, is able to show us the truth about ourselves and everything else.
It is capable of showing us how we are connected to EVERYTHING.
Life Force is in all of us and in everything.
And once experienced, even if just for a second, will change your life completely.
Because what could I possibly want from the world of senses once I know I have access to the Life Force?
The Light that gives life to me is also in everything else and we have the ability to feel it.
It’s always there, but we get too distracted listening to our minds and lose track of the most important thing, the exact reason why we are alive.
Re-discovering this connection is the most amazing thing that can happen to you.
In my opinion, it’s the meaning of our lives.
And it is your heart, not your mind, that will allow you to do that.
So, I lovingly thank my mind for working so hard to “find” solutions, but I let it know that at this point its help is not required.
I remind myself that I am not interested in trying harder to re-arrange the world to make me feel less discomfort, pain, etc.
Instead, I sit quietly and feel my heart.
I sit quietly and allow myself to be taken of a journey of self-discovery and growth.
I allow my heart to show me how to live from a place of love, rather than fear.
